This looks like good detail on the sword grip and it is larger than other swords.

The blade apears to be earlier than WWII, and even though I think it is nickle plated, It looks like tempering line to me. You can see it in the blade right below this grip shot.

Jim,

It is a family "Mon" on the backstrap of your Army parade saber. These are collectable, with the Mon, but I don't recognize it offhand. The blade is machine made and has a false temper line that is acid etched. It is not an
old blade but is probably pre-WWI because of the the fuller.
