i was looking for info on the value of a japanese sword that a canada doctor during ww2 had bought off of a US soldier who was wounded. the canadian doctor was serving on a medical ship. the sword is all original and was stored in a trunk for years he said the sword was a senoir nco sword and it is matching numbered he believed it was a navy sword due to the scabbard was painted gold ! the paint looks period and has dents with paint chipped off and beneath is metal !it has stamps . would anyone know its value because i am thinking of selling it!

the sword is very solid and all parts are made of brass and the handle is alumium.here are pics of the sword and stamps!thanks for any info!
