Great items Paul! Your friend got real lucky! Do you know which a r s e nal made the baby? If it's TGE he really struck gold! Does the mag. match? Sword is a great combat piece. I love the field improvised handle cover. The owner used his tassel as the tie/wrap.I think the holster is Chinese.

I do not think the handle protector is field made. I believe that the saya leather protector and handle cover are both from the same maker. I am not sure if these pieces are issue or private purchase.

The a r s e nal on the Baby pistol is Tokyo. The sword scabbard & handle cover were not standard & were private purchase options which is what I had meant to say.

MY GUESS IS THAT AT SOME POINT THE CORD HOLDING THE FIELD COVER ON THE HANDLE BROKE. THE OFFICER IMPROVISED AND USED HIS TASSLE TO HOLD IT TOGETHER.
