Hello, picked this sword up yesterday, I would like some good comments on it, the blade has been buffed but the rest is in pretty decent shape, the tang is only marked with a star, the blade looks to have an arsenal stamp. Any help would be appreiciated, I don't collect japenese stuff and found this one at a friends shop, he picked it up last week. Thanks

The grip is a typical Shingunto. The suba is different from what I'm used to seeing. And I have not seen a blade marked like this on a Shigunto mount. Hopefully some of our advance collectors can shed more light on this one, if not. I would post it on a hard core Japanese sword forum for answers.

Fritzii, try posting your sword photos on WAF Japanese board. One of the moderators there is a sword expert. Good luck.
