Were Army Officer Samurai sword wraps always brown....or were other colors available.?????

THE TSUKAITO OR HANDLE WRAPPING IS OF RECENT VINTAGE. THE TANG READ EMURA SAKU(MADE BY EMURA). THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT HANDS THAT SIGNED THIS NAME.
