HEY GUYS

Just picked this bad boy up for a vet in town. Its a nice complete Type 99 with the orginal sling, dust cover, mono pod, anti aircraft sights. I have heard the slings are harder to find then the actual rifle. Any ways thought i would post some picks to see what you guys think.

That's a very nice example you have there. The dust covers are usually not with the rifle, nor are slings or monopods. The rifle looks great since the crysanthamum (sp?) is intact. Very nice overall.

I had one of these last summer. The sling had unit markings on it. Does yours have any markings?

Spencer, Nice rifle! They used to be a dime a dozen, but not anymore.

Dow, Is this what your sling looked like?

Hey Dow and Denny

You guys have some great looking Type99. I have looked all over the sling and couldn't find any markings at all. They must have rubbed off over the years. This is the first time i have actually seen a rifle sling for any type of Japanese rifle. I have heard that the slings are more rare then the actual rifle. Denny i will look it over one more time and see if there is any markings.

Spencer,
In my limited experience, most Japanese slings are NOT marked.

Good work, thats a nice 99, the sling looks correct. The japanese market is getting better, there are a lot of sleepers out there waiting to be picked up. There is a gun show this weekend in Pasadena Texas, always a lot of japanese stuff there, I will have some fun.
