LOU-
THE SIGNATURE READS YORIMASA. THERE ARE ONLY TWO SWORDSMITHS THAT ARE RECORDED TO HAVE SIGNED IN THIS MANNER. BOTH MEN WORKED IN THE LATE KAMAKURA PERIOD, LATE 13TH CENTURY TO VERY EARLY 14TH CENTURY. YOUR BLADE IS DEFINITELY NOT THAT OLD. IT IS LIKELY THE SIGNATURE WAS ADDED AT A LATER DATE. THE LACQUER WRITING ON THE SHIRASAYA IS THE NAME OF THE OWNER, WHICH IS WRITTEN IN KATAKANA, A PHOENETIC ALPHABET USED FOR FOREIGN WORDS AND NAMES. THESE CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT TO TRANSLATE PROPERLY. IT APPEARS TO READ KENNETH PERCHAM, AND IN KANJI, JAPAN YOKOHAMA. THAT IS ALL I CAN TELL YOU FROM THE PICTURES.
