Can any one identify this cipher on this Miniature Hirschfanger. E+F Horster ?
German/English? It has had it’s clam removed and the little cipher is pinned to the BLACK scabbard with two well done little pins! Thanks John GDC#o238 |

It is an R combined with a mirrored R.

John,
I would think your cypher might stand for one of the landed gentry since it has a crown. Perhaps a private hunting estate? What insignia is in the grip? "You can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself." Ricky Nelson |

Thanks! It has the mini D J emblem with the little deer head & swastika. The closest I have gotten to it in my online search is military imperial shoulder boards that are very similar. No mirrored Rs though? It would also appear that German prince’s and other sub royalty had crowned cyphers as well. Sooooo….. I especially like your assessment of landed gentry and I think it may fit! The search continues! blairbunker - aka, JOHN GDC#o238 |
