Just got this great looking DDR-miniature dagger that seems to have been awarded for 25 years of faithful service in the armed forces .The dagger is 7-inches long and comes with a 5-inches long laurel leave stem in a 8-1/2 by 6-inches box that has a plastic cover .Posted by Bernd

These have been around since the fall of the wall.

BUT, they also have been reproduced..

Boerse : The craftmanship on this is outstanding, particular on the laurel leave stem with the set-in crystal glass! I believe it would not be worthwhile the effort to produce this for $50 as a fake !!! Regards, Bernd .

I have to admit that I do not know how to detect them (as I don´t have the least interest in them) but it is a well known fact between german collectors that these miniatures (as most kinds of the different DDR daggers) are around also as fakes.

"Never look for sqare eggs" as an owner of an original FHH-dagger uses to say.
