Hi,
Can I get some opinions on this one, I have no idea if it is a letter opener, mini, chinese repro or toothpick Smile. The only thing I have noticed is that I have seen this type of knot on other examples, any information would be appreciated.

But have a look at completed ebay listing : 200058542076

SUPERB MINIATURE GERMAN NAVAL SWORD, SCABBARD AND KNOT

look quick, since it will not be on ebay for a long time.
It looks like that one has the same knot and it got sold for 126 pounds (245 dollars).

Well done, I had given up on this post but glad you managed to find some information, it certainly appears to be the source for this type of miniature and although the scabbard is slightly different on mine the rest is identical. I certainly paid alot less than that EBAY listing, what price is the one you are looking at out of interest?.
Thanks for sharing Smile.

the guy is asking 25 euro but over the phone I asked him if it was a fixed price, and he said it was negotiable.
So I guess I will bid 15 or 20 euro. If it is in decent shape
Anyway it might not be the real thing but it is still a nice letter opener.

As you said there is a small difference in coloring, also mine has two rings (as in the add I can only see one ring).
He did say that it was a gift he got 15 years ago.
But he was not sure if it was new or used when he got it.
They told him that it was a confederal mini sword.
But I did recognized it as an army sword, so that got me intrested. And I told him that I thought it was german, but he told me no no its a gift from the USA.
So normally i will go and get this Saturday.
He has some other stuff aswell that I want to check out.
