Gents,
I picked up a nice boxed mini sword from Heidelberg the other day. The typical German tourist sword made for domestic consumption rather than export. Closeup view of the Portepee with a silver plated mesh band and the etching. Notice the filigree on the ends of the Heidelberg etch and the gold fill.

Finally, a closeup view of the nickeled hilt showing the detail to the lionhead. The grips appear to simulate sharkskin and there is no langet. It is difficult to date something like this but I suspect it is probably from the 1930s.
