This is at the top of page 34 in the Wehrpass of an SS Sturmmann in the 37th SS Pz Gr Rgt. Normally, this page states when a soldier went missing in action, but I do not see the magic word 'Vermisst' here. The part on the right, which was re-written, seems to state that something happened to the man in question 1 km southwest of Meautis, France on 7.7.44.
However I am at a loss knowing WAHT happened to him?
The German War Graves Commission does not list his name as among those killed, so the possibility remains that he was captured or otherwise missing, or even left, due to wounds.
I suspect the key may be in the part on the left, that was crossed out.
If anyone can make sense of that crossed-out entry and if it may shed light on what might have happened to this man, please let me know your best guess. Thanks in advance.

For the first, I can only read the first outlined word "Durchschuß li." which means shot through (body) lef. Then Oberarm (upper arm) is lined out. I cannot read the word (not lind out) above "Oberarm". The last word (not lined out) is Rippen which means rips. The words on the top might me medical expressions, abbreviated, which I do not know.

The text to the right I think says 21. (are you sure about 37th???)/SS Pz.Gr Rgt. / Frankreich 1 km / südwestl. Meantis which means: certain unit, France, 1km southwest of Meantis (town in France).

Thanks Wotan-yes Meautis is a hamlet south of Carentan, France and the 37th SS Pz Gr Rgt was part of the 17th SS Division, which was engaged there.
I surmise that the soldier in question was evacuated with wounds, on 7-7-44, and survived, because his name is not listed with the war dead in the German War Graves records. Regards, MB

Although this does not help in the case itself, I now could also read the two words (not lined out) at the top:
Gr.Spli. which means Granat Splitter (grenade splinter) and refers to the "shot-through-the-body, left".
I admit that I was wrong on the 21th/SS.Pz.Gr.Rgt. as the bottom line is part of the "F" of Frankreich (France). But it now resembles more 11 than 17. Just my thoughts striktly to the writing and sorry, I am not used with these units and where they fought at what dates.

BTW, the number which looks like '11', is probably the 11th Kompanie of the 37th SS Pz Gr Rgt, rather than a 17.
