Normally I would think it to be the original owners last name initial with the crown denoting a title. Kind of unusual to find it on 2 different swords. There were different crowns depending on the title. Maybe we have a crown expert here that can shed a little light.

Does not the H(v) under crown symbolize an officer working for the crown in army administration?

The larger H(V) continued on in the Wiemar and Nazi period with the same font larger V for Heeresverwaltung.
