Robert,

I tend to agree that it wasn't any kind of official award but more likely a regimental decoration, possibly for a fob, keychain or to mark a seabag or personal gear? The fact that the eyelet isn't properly rounded off leads me to believe it was manufactured by a small company or jeweler? I like the fact that it's from the Elsass region that went back and forth between Germany and France, and displays the Prussian eagle. A unique and interesting bauble! Wink

R,

Hard to say cause I've never seen one for sale?
I'd say it's a fairly scarce item and wouldn't be afraid to ask $150 for it, but then again, we're partial, no? Cool It honestly might be worth more and/or, maybe less, I'm not certain? But I think a hundred-fifty would be fair, no? It looks to be a nice, original piece and the research would take somebody into a whole new avenue of German military things to explore.

Someone who may specialize in items from that region might find this a treat, great eagle, too! Nice unique piece, best of luck if you sell it.

I have a desklamp festooned with with a garland of little gems like this one. You can find some really fantastic baubles in the $50-200 range these days, but along with the dollar price, additionally goes one's time, too ... Big Grin

Best!
