I was at a local estate sale of a WWI vet who's son also served in Korea. The WWI vet family migrated to Texas in the 1870's. I purchased lots of US uniforms and gear from WWI/Korea and as i was leaving i just happened to look thru the "junk" pile old games, domino's,marbles, misc items and pulled these items out of the box. I wont even say what i payed Eek

No matter how rare, common or seemingly unimportant, a find like this where everything is 100% original, plays as a superb factor! Good photos of the wound badge pin assemblies, etc, posted on medals forum may come in very handy for one of our younger fellow collectors someday ..? That hat marking should be of interest to several headgear specialists, and so on.

Great find, thanks for letting us take a look.

Kursk, a neighbor of the estate was at the estate sale told me as a child he remembers seeing these items being displayed at the local post office in the 40's. The town is very very small an all german community. The family i forgot to mention immigrated from germany. The house was full of german books & furniture from the 19th century. Nobody had lived in the house since 1961, the son would stop by every other month for upkeep. I will take better pics this week and post them in the proper forum for future use. thanks for looking

Great find.In my opinion theres nothing better than finding items from the familys and have history behind them.

Never argue with an idiot, he will only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
