Hey all,

I found this site while trying to ID a particular HJ knife with no luck. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

As you can see it has an eagles head with only one rivet, the other is under the diamond and is fastened on the other side with a nut of some sort.

I've never seen a diamond that low on a grip before, but then again I really haven't gotten into collecting these types of knives either. I just pic them up at gun shows and such when I see them for a good price.

Here are a couple more that I have:

Early with motto

Later without motto

Last ones:
Trench Knives

That is an original very early Anton Wingen Jr. Only this maker made early knifes like these. Unfortunately the diamond always shows damage on the enamel due to the presure on the rivet.

Good find and very nice onther HJ's you are showing!

Best greetings,

Herman

Thanks for the reply Herman....

So that "nut" on the back side opposite the diamond is supposed to be there huh?

That was my major cause for skepticism with the knife as everything else looked authentic. I picked it up for $100.00...good deal?

Last question (for now lol!) how old are the two trench knifes? They have no markings on them except for a 100 on the black handled knife and a 45 on the brown handled knife.

Thanks again.

For 100$, you made an excellent deal! Congratulations!

Fighting knifes are not my thing, I 'll let other memebers comment on them.

Best greetings,

Herman

I almost did Ed.

I actually picked it up, looked it over and put it back down thinking it was a fake. I started thinking about it as I was walking around the gun show and I couldn't get past all the original looking aspects of the knife so I went back, offered $100.00 and got it.

I'm glad I bought it now.

Thanks guys for the responses.
