In looking at Kuno Ritter HJs I have found four different early marks on knives without ricasso as follows:
1. K. Ritter Solingen GG marked
2. K. Ritter Solingen
3. Kuno Ritter Solingen-Graefrath GG marked
4. Kuno Ritter Solingen
Does anyone have anything else on and early knife without ricasso? In that vain, what markings do you have on any Ritter knives? Thanks Russ

I have a Kuno Ritter with motto and TM on the reverse of the blade without ricasso, but also has 1936 and RZM with M7/3 on the motto side next to the ricasso. A picture in my books NPEA Daggers and Associated Knives.
This is the only HJ Knife I have seen with an RZM mark on the obverse blade.

Hi Ron, thanks for the reply. That is one rare knife. I have seen many with the maker mark on the reverse along with the GG mark and RZMed on obverse ricasso but not one like that. It just goes to show again that this was a for profit industry and not rocket science.
Also, have you seen many maker marked knives RZMed to another company? Most that I have seen involve Horster. Russ

Yes, I have seen another one and, as I remember, it was a small maker with the RZM to Paul Weyersburg. I should have made a note, but thought it was just an factory error at the time.
Also, I believe that in late 1936 several makers who had stamped their TM in the reverse of the blade, etched their RZM mark onto existing stock. See my E. Pack in the book and you will see another example with this done.
