Gentlemen,

This Eickhorn 37 HJ knife has a decorated scabbard clip button. I am wondering if this is original? Has any of you seen this before on an Eickhorn?

Any comments are more than welcome.

Thanks and greetings.

Herr Mann

I don't remember seeing this on an Eickhorn, but it is the same catch you always see on the Brannik Youth Knife.

Scabbard is original. Whether it came with that knife originally, I do not know. I have several early knives with this type snap button, one of which is Eickhorn and one is Boker. Another example I have like this is with a Justinus knife. None were veteran acquired so I just don't know. You have given me another area to explore on my veteran acquired knives but just because it came out of the footlocker doesn't mean it came that way from the factory. Russ

Russ, I have found this type button on veteran acquired knives (two Brannik Youth Knives), so I know it is a period snap.

Ron, Russ, Raymond,

Thanks a lot for your comments!

People with a firstname starting with "R" seem to have a higher chance becoming an HJ collector... Smile

Best greetings,

Rerr Mann

The ornamented button without any doubt is a period one. Mostly early.
BTW, not all Branniks did have the ornamented button.
