I just started collecting but in hindsite I should have joined here (first) and got educated.

This one looks legit but I am concerned that I overpaid, what is it worth ?

Jay

Hi newbie, looks original. I am certainly no expert though. I would expect to pay less than $200. The maker is very common. Ian.

Yes, the knife is original, I would like to see a closeup of the diamond though.

The scabbard is missing the strap and the blade condition is not top. So around 200$-250$ seems fair if the grip plates are intact (no cracks) and the diamond is original.

Best greetings,

Herman

It got a hit so it seems, but it is an original and that is most important.

Best greetings,

Herman

Hi Jay, a nice original from Schüttelhöfer & Co, M7/13. This maker is generally regarded as the most prolific in HJ's. Yours appears to have a non-magnetic zinc hilt which would likely make it a late 1938, or later manufactured piece. It's a pity it has lost the retaining strap, but it's still a nice original example retaining a good blade shape.

Regards
Russell
