Hi! First of all I'm not an expert anyway, so here I go: IMO the only I don't like in the knife are the grips, I don't recognize the diamonds style, on the other hand I like the blade, deep motto and an unknow MM, maybe slovak? if the price is right I will get it. Best regards.

The rivets appear off as well. The grip plates look like they were heavily sanded to get them to fit although this might have been common on these knives, I don't know. Never seen that ricasso mark on an HJ type blade before.

Those plates do not IMHO fit right.
The proof stamp is not right, I've not seen that mark on a genuine knife before. I HAVE seen it on a fake, which gives me cause for concern.
I would not touch this thing.
Love to hear from Ron...

I agree with Lakeside. Also, why is the motto in German when the other foreign country youth knives have their own language for the motto use????

Guys i have learned more on this Slovakian hj with the FAKE winged stamp on the ricasso, seems these are made in Russia, so now i DO NOT think they are genuine period knifes but have been told Ron has a Slovakian hj knife pictured in his 1st volume NPEA Daggers and Associated Knives with no motto, i have learned something new today guys Wink

Here are the pics of the one that came from Johnson, maybe 15 years ago. I'll have to see if I have the letter from him about where it came from. It seems well made, but it's certainly possibly it's a fantasy piece. I guess I could get my money back, but it was long enough ago, it wasn't much by today's prices.
