Early HJ knifes are seen quite often with annodised scabbards, black paint seems to have become the standard only during the later productions. I wonder which makers used the annodised scabbards.

If you have one with an annodised scabbard, show us!

Best greetings,

Herman

Wonderful conditioned Anton Wingen Jr you show there Pat, real "Patrice" quality, like we are used to see from you! Smile
Yes, the 1936 version also has the motto, I'll add a picture.

Great Henckels you have there, Seany! Is it dated, I cannot make out the year?

Best greetings,

Herman

I think 1937 was a common year for the 'anodized' scabbard, as times were good pre war and competition among the makers was heating up....

Another early Pack with anodised scabbard, note that the hilt is different compared to Ed's example.

Best greetings,

Herman

Thanks Pat, I've had it a long time. I think I need a new camera with better low light capabilities to be able to show the crossgraining...

I just remembered, my Spanish youth knife has an anodized scabbard as well....
