Early HJ knifes are seen quite often with annodised scabbards, black paint seems to have become the standard only during the later productions. I wonder which makers used the annodised scabbards.

Hi Herman yes its dated 1936. i really like your Wingen JR superb knife.
Pat you always manage to find the best daggers going well done!!

I think 1937 was a common year for the 'anodized' scabbard, as times were good pre war and competition among the makers was heating up....
