The first is often seen on private purchase Police bayonets but could also be for a degen with a slim scabbard. The second looks like a Luftwaffe sword hanger but if really green would be for Forestry or Hunting or even Land Customs

Dippy,

I've seen your #1 type hanger on a Polizei bayonet before, in one of Johnson's books in the Unusual Blades of the Third Reich" section. I believe it was on a short private purchase piece with a stiletto blade. This might explain the reason it won't fit your bayonets, presuming they're regular sized cut down models. Very interesting looking hanger indeed, thanks for sharing it.

Dippy,

I don't have any photos of this type piece in wear. The photo (or photos) I remember were in Johnson's series, my references are packed away & not at my current location. Otherwise I'd look up the photo(s) for you. There's at least one that I remember distinctly with that type hanger on a short private purchase Polizei bayonet. If I can get to the books this weekend, I'll try to find the volume & page for ya.

I believe if you try it on that private purchase WKC Police you have there--it will fit. If not--It's for one of the slim degens.
