I thought i'd share some of my framed collectibles. Mostly limited edition artwork that relates to the war. The 1st piece is an original US propoganda poster from 1943. This piece is my favorite poster produced during the war. The image is a wonderful example of artwork by Perlin. Very difficult to find these in modern times. I love it!

A limited edition print from Nick Trudgian. Sortie of 109's from I./JG2 patroling the Normandy coast. There are also a few HE111's there as well. Signed by 3 KC winning aces.

As far as my artprints go, this is my favorite. It's from a somewhat obscure artist from Australia...or NZ, Randall Wilson. In the United States, there are no authorized dealers of his artwork. I was in contact with the artist and he suggested Cranston out of the UK. This is a limited edition print of the heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper, presumably in Narvik. Cranston shipped via 2 day delivery at no cost. His naval prints are stunning.

This prints is from John Young, also an artist from the UK I believe. His works are not in demand like Trudgians or Roberty Taylors, yet I do appreciate his style. As such, prices reflect demand. This is also a limited edition print, of a sortie of Focke-Wulf 190's also on patrol at Mount St. Michael, Normandy coast.

Framing the prints was a bit of challenge. I was down to spend $600 that Michaels quoted me for a custom frame. Not a chance. I bought the prefab frames on sale for about $30 each, bought the acid free backing and matting for about $10 each, spent the $20 to have them professionally cut and assembled the pieces myself. I would still very much like to add "Aces of the Western Front" by Taylor, "Winter Patrol" as well as "The Big Guns" both by Trudgian. One of our peers had acquired Winter Patrol, had it framed and must say it looks incredible. The price is just a bit too steep however. The going price is around $600. I shopped these prints and was able to purchase them all for well below market prices, with the exception of Wilsons "Hipper".

How 'bout the rest of you guys? I really enjoy seeing everyones prints that add so much and enhance the collections.

The only issue is that wall space becomes a premium for me. I also have all my Japanese battle flags framed as well. In fact some are down and stored framed behind the safe as the walls were becoming just too overcrowded and tacky.

It's critical the "bunker" be kept somewhat dark with no direct sunlight contacting any collectibles. I've noticed that since 70-80 have elapsed, many flags i'm finding are really starting to deteriorate from poor storage and environmental conditions. Decades of storage with the flags neatly folded into a 10"x10" square has led many examples to rot at the creases. Storage meathods are critical. Cotton examples have suffered signifigantly more than thier silk counterparts have. I keep this hand made cotton example framed with a high quality acid free back.

Very nice stuff swordfish. Heres a couple of my war era paper items. First is an art print from Germany. Shows a few soldiers on the eastern front with artillery. The second picture is of a german war bond.
