I was given this fork (for free about 32 years ago) by a lady who was a little girl in (I think Hanover Germany) during WWII. I had asked her if she had any German stuff from the war. She got out several pieces of luftwaffe mess hall dinner ware. She had a lw plate, gravy spoon, fork and knife (which she also gave me). All appropriately marked and original. She then gave me this ss fork. Her kids used to dig with them in the dirt when playing outside. To make a long story short they were bombed out a few days before the end of the war so they went to the abandoned LW base and loaded up their wagons with stuff to help them survive. She had no interest in the items at all except for what they were made for. She gave them to me without even asking.
