hi all,,need info on when this stein was probably made,,,bottom has wording "korht" ? makers symbol,what looks like the number 11,and made in West-Germany,,,are these collectible and do they have any decent value?? Confused

I have a similar (but different unit) one that was my father-in-law's. Has his name and 1958-61 on it indicating his time in that unit. That should help identify a time period that these were available and I too wonder about collectablity and value.

I can post pictures if there is interest.

i would tend to agree early 60s, value depends on your collecting theme, id say between 35, and 45 uk, {50, 70 dollars} or there about for an educated guess, maybe more, depending on unit

MM, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I hate it when work gets in the way of the fun stuff.

Here's a few pix I managed to get this afternoon before the batteries went dead. I wanted to get one of the maker mark but didn't make it. The maker is Hugo Schmidt, Koblenz Germany. Interestingly not marked West or W. Germany. I can follow up with a picture of the mark and the other pictures on the stein. On one side of the handle is the emblem of the 86th Fighter Interceptor Wing and on the other side is an F-105.
