Hi,

Been told they are coat check tags.

Not brass--I think they are gold plated aluminum.

Real or not? I don't know, but I found another Reichskanzlei tag for £165 ($325) at cloudcuckooland

Here's another Reichskanzlei tag at DWG Militaria:

quote:
CLOAKROOM TAB FROM THE REICHSKANZLEI' High quality piece that came from the Reichschancellery cloakroom. Front side has a beautifully stamped eagle & swastika, 'Reichkanzlei' & '147'. Back side stamped 'HERREN' & 'W'. Thus it is for the men's side, row 'W', article number 147. Beautiful condition. Where did all the thousands of pieces that were in this building go? Surely not all destroyed. Probably mostly carted off by the Russians & now lying dormant in some State warehouse. At any rate, a most interesting souvenir from a once magnificent building that no longer exists.

quote:
Price: $2000.00

OK, assume for a moment that these tags/tabs are authentic. What is the appropriate price for one of these? If these are indeed selling for $2,000 a piece, then I can imagine the fakers are already at work duplicating these.

Hi,

I collect edged weapons--WWI and WWII German, Caucasian , Persian etc. I avoid WWII badges and such as I don't know enough to tell fakes from real. I had never seen anything like this before so I took a chance. I didn't realize exactly what they were. I bought them as German bathroom key holders. I do thank the members for correct identification and help. I do hope someone has knowledge if they are being faked or knowledge of originals. As far as I can tell my examples pretty much match the 2 other examples shown.

Thanks much

Matt
