Please, look that I have found out. On this dagger Rohm's dedication once was. But on low CG there is a stamp Wm. In the Fisher's reference book it is specified that on such daggers there should be stamp He and them only 8589 daggers were made. But I am absolutely sure that these CGs from this dagger. As additional argument I ask to pay attention to conterminous figures on a tang and drawn on drip. The grip ideally approaches to it crossguards.

Fisher reference is still uncomplete and that's why it's still updated. There is another thing that is strange to me: I own 2 Wingens - Röhm and "regular" one. The difference between them is the size of the logo- Röhm dagger has smaller version, while your dagger appears to have the normal logo. Besides both have MV marking on the tang and PA crossguards ("He" SA Gruppe).

I am suprised at the lack of response about this dagger...
In my eyes I see nothing wrong with this dagger, I really like the internally numbered parts. Everything seems OK to me. As for the large makers mark, I agree with 777 that the Wingen Rohms I have seen have a smaller version of the knight. However, it is ofcourse possible that this larger knight was used on some of their Rohms. You might want to contact one of the Rohm inscription experts like Gailen David. This may be a very rare find. Good luck! Johnny Silver Badge #0398 My Avatar = My dagger security system! |
