Hi, thanks John for the info. I am saving hard for one. But, I have the feeling the time I get the money together they will be well out of my reach unfortunately. As I have noticed everyone is looking for them, and when a real nice one pops up its gone in a New York Second!! I have also heard that Wittmann is finishing his SA book off and it will be ready for the printers next year at some point, so IMO this will have a big effect on the prices too! Just like his books did for the SS daggers etc.
I think that in the last couple of years the prices of SAs have peaked in anticipation of Tom's book.
But, anything that is in NM or better condition will always sell quickly and at a premium.
Two years ago, everyone was astounded when a very, very nice conditioned Rohm SA went for over $7,000 at a major dealer's site. Very recently, an NM Rohm SA went for what looked like over $8,500 at another. And, as you noted, these things go very quickly.
If you have followed Tom Johnson's special offerings on his web site, some items only last for minutes or a few hours, and they are rarely cheap .
Connect to the right people and maybe you can score one for around what dealers buy at.

Thanks for the help John, the prices are all over the place as these daggers are starting to find there true prices IMO, as they are super rare! It will be like trying to win the Lotto finding a top condition Full Rohm SA at any price these days and securing it for ones collection. There is always someone with lots more cash to offer up when one comes fresh to market. I have heard just a few days ago from a dealer friend there has been one "don't know the maker" in near mint condition sell for around 12,000 Euro's to a high end collector with mega bucks, and the dagger came from a collection in England. I will keep my fingers crossed, and maybe I will get lucky!
