Nice dagger, but the box is a spanish copy.
You can find the same box with a big "SS" in a white circle for the fake spanish SS dagger.

Best regards.

That's a rare Gau mark for that dagger, especially a full inscription Rohm.

Hi, I do not find it rare, especially here where it was purchased. Here where I live 40% of early SA daggers is marked OST for Ostland.
For me rare Gau marking is Kp, A, Sw, Fr.

The Russians got to Ostland first..and stripped it bare, that's why that Gau mark is not seen as often as others from the south of Germany.

Can you post a closer view of that E P & S mark with the figure?

Can you show a close up photo of the maker mark, as well as more close up photos of the inscription?

Is there any crossgrain in the blade? I can't see from you photos.

Hi, according to Wittmans Bible markings inside crossguards are correct for EP&S. As I have mentioned earlier OST markings are most common here in Poland (about 40% of early daggers are marked OST).

There is no crossgrain on my dagger's blade anymore because it was probaly polished many years ago.

I have bought this piece from person whose father was a WWII vet fighting with Germans as a partisan. This dagger was in their hands for all this years after the war.

Anyway I'm 100% sure of its originality and would never sell it.

Better pics will be added later ...

Would be nice if we could get a closer look at the Rohm's inscription.
Too much flash reflection and we can't really see the inscription properly.
