I have owned this dagger for some time, but as you are all aware fakes are numerous.
All fittings are Eickhorn lower crossguard benchmarked No 4, i would appreciate your opinions on the blade inscription, tang, billet clamp mark and trademark. although the photo doesn't show clearly the position of the alles fur deutschland, it is further to the tip of the blade and the trademark is very near to the tang, this i believe is correct for eickhorn. I would appreciate any opinions on this blade. Many thanks fellows for the feedback i hope to receive

Bruce - im no expert but the last time i saw a motto with the stipled affect as shown above was on a Reddick SS Rohm blade. Can i ask has the blade been cleaned or buffed to your knowledge?

In my opinion, this Rohm inscription is a complete fake.

I have seen worse stippling to the etching on period blades, but......not on a Rohm & I have to say the quality of the dedication appears to be very poor. You could pull up some other threads & try to make comparisons but I think Pat is correct.

Ditto That strumbrigade.
I am sorry to say I have seen the same.
Hope we're wrong but I don't think so.

hi,could the poor quality of the dedication be down to heavy polishing or are there other red flags apart from what people have already mentioned which is the stipling and poor quality of the insription? great forum.

Many of the letters in the inscription "In Herzlicher Freundshaft Ernst Rohm" are somewhat unusual.
The first capital letter "I" at the beginning of the inscription is way off.
I will send a close up pic of the first letter and you will be able to compare the differences.

Now compare your "I" in the first word compared to this one.
The bottom curve of the "I" is a lot smoother.

Does anyone know if there are any reddick rohm daggers with the eickhorn TM in the correct place instead of being too far away from the cross guard? and also is the Alles fur deutschland in the correct place on the reddick rohm blades?

Could it be a Ground Rohm re etched.
Looks like the grind marks would be in the correct spots.

It looks like reetched full GR to me. Besides, talking about letter shapes: Pat's blade and ivbaust's blade have different styles of lettering too (although they are both OK).
And second thing: KAMERADSCHAFT not "freundschaft"
(close but not the same).
