Paul's right, this has to be the nicest repro I've ever seen and I'm pretty certain that many of these, are in collections.

Wow, those early Reddicks were really nice, the only give-away I can see is the TM being too high on the blade. Ron, are there any other factors that are a good red flag?.

I believe Attwood made an almost perfect Eick Rohm, the only distiguising factor being a the large Eickhorn TM.

Something about the overall shape of the blade. Is it maybe the camera? T

If you have it in hand, there are several ways to tell.
1. TM is too high.
2. Etch is not up to standards of the originals and the depth is not as good.
3. Tangs have no marks.
4. Color is a little off. Has a bluish tint to the metal.
5. Crossgraining is not as good nor as even.
6. Center ridge is too sharp.
7. Overall, the blade is a little wavey and the center ridge is not exactly true or straight.

You just have to look at a lot of originals and see what the basics are on these. Eickhorn made them because they were one of the better QA houses and this still remains the best way to tell.

Educate yourself and buy from someone who you respect and knows their product.

Maybe it's the photos but the blade doesn't look like it's quite the correct shape either?

Its the angle of the photos as the blade shape in person is fine.

Odd, it seems to be slightly thinner towards the tip of the blade.

I have also found that besides the slight blue tint to the blade, it is narrower at the top. You don't see this just holding it up, but put it next to a real one and you can notice.

You have to wonder how many of these have been completly ground, including the TM, leaving a few traces of the motto and now reside in collections?
