Now for a discription.
This dagger came from my granfather. The blade is marked "Made In Germany", under the handle there is a "S" stamped on the metal, and in the Eagles nest there is a "H". Those are the only marks I could find on the blade. The leather sheath has "Made In Germany" also branded into it. When doing research I did not find anything like this one. There is no "SS" emblem either like the ones I found, and dosen't apear to have been broken off. It is aprox. 14.5-15in overall lenght also. Thanks for the help Bill |

Bill,
The accepted norm is that any edged weapon marked " MADE IN GERMANY " was made after the end of the war, without pictures it is very hard to give an educated assessment, I will post them for you if you would like to mail them to me. Welcome to the forum |

Degens,
There should be a pic in the other post I did. If not let me know and I will send you one. Thanks, Bill |

Bill,
I see the pic, as far as I am aware these were made shortly after the end of the war as keepsakes for returning troops, I have never held this type so can only go from pictures but it has what appears to be a luft dagger grip and ferrule and an army type pommel and crossguard. The leather scabbard is a post war addition although the dagger parts could be original leftovers. I am sure someone will correct me if I have missed anything. Regards |
