After some hard negotiations I finally got 9 albums with 1304 photos of a member of the Hitlerjugend.

Before I post some photos here, I would like to tell a bit of the story.

The albums come from another collector. He has got them from the family of Achim von Tippelskirch.
Now Achim von Tippelskirch was the nephew of Kurt von Tippelskirch. General and Oak-Leaf Winner.

His father ( the brother of Kurt v.T.) was an airforce general.
I would like to find out a bit more about the Tippelskirch family.
Some more information about the airforce general.

Kurt von Tippelskirch survived the war and wrote a book about the 2nd WW in the 50ties.

But I have not much information about his brother and the rest of the family.

These 9 albums have some outstanding photos. They start about 1934 with early HJ pictures. The majority of the photos is between 1936 and 1938. Many HJ-camps, travels in germany and italy. Normal duty and so on. They end in 1941, when Achim v.T. was a Leutnant in the artillery branch and was in russia.

Now You have seen 48 photos out of 1304.
Maybe You can imagine the quality of this lot.
Personally I think it is the best photographic material that I have ever seen from the HJ.
At least it is for me.

Maybe somebody can help me out with some more infos about this family.

Robert, congrats on a fine acquisition - the photos you have shown are stunning and make fantastic uniform studies. It must have been a thrill to uncover such treasures and secure the deal which will no doubt become a great research project.

I like the HJ knife action - no wonder it's hard to find some good ones!

Well done Robert. I was wondering why we hadn't seen more posting from you lately.
I was lucky enough to find two photo albums from NPEA students in the past year to help with my NPEA Dagger book update. It seems that HJ photograph albums give the best source for period photos that are significant in doing research and help with material.

Robert, fantastic showing. The images are so clear the damaged handle on one of the HJ knives can be seen. I also noted the fold and the stitching to one of the cloth emblems.
In picture 31 there is a pin or tinnie above a pocket, any ideas what it might be?

it's not a kind of magic, it's just a very good Canon scanner. The photo of the complete page was made with my Canon EOS 350 D, I love this digital SLR camera.
But all other pics are scanned at the resolution of 600 dpi and re-sized to fit the screen resolutions.

Thanks for all the nice words. These albums are really a superb group and excellent quality. I will get more loose photos from that lot in the near future. The seller simply has forgotten them at home, but they are already paid. Hope to get them soon.

I didn't expect that they are 600 more !!

These lose photos came in old boxes for photo papers and some are double, already in the albums, however some are new too.

In the meantime I found out the name of the Hj-Gebietsführer. It was Emil Klein, district leader of the HJ-Gebiet Hochland.

Anyone looking at this thread knows why we are photo collectors - outstanding pics all the way.

Robert, this is the best picture series of the HJ that I have seen. I brings back memories as I was a member of the Jungvolk (Gau Suedfranken) from 1943 - 1945. Joe asked what the pin above the pocket in picture 31 is. It is the Jungvolk "Leistungsabzeichen". It is a medal that was awarded for excellence in various sports disciplines, such as running, jumping, swimming, pole jumping, discus throwing, etc. The badge has the swastika in the middle that is surrounded by the words "Fuer Leistungen im DJ" (For performance in the German Jungvolk).

About the Luftwaffe General ...

Ulrich von Tippelskirch, born 3 October 1883 in Bretleben/Kreis Eckartsberga and died 31 December 1967 in Steinebach/Woerthsee.

Apparently, he was in the Navy during the first war but was Luftwaffe from 1936 on. He was promoted to Generalleutnant on 1 April 1943.

Toward the end of the war, he was mostly in quartermaster duty but his last assignment was on the Staff of Luftgau-Kommandos XXV. He was assigned to the Fuhrerreserve OKL from 18 June 1943.

#50 shows an NSFK Gruppenfuhrer and not an SA Gruppenfuhrer --still not sure who he is though.

#70 -- I know this sounds stupid but is there any more of this photo to the left on Goebbels side?? There is a PL on the very end that I would love to see if the end extends farther. You can just see him on the edge.
