Hello, just picked up this armband, not sure if it is repro or not, but the price was right so it does'nt really matter. could someone please authenticate for me? as well as any info as to what the armband is all about. Thanks in advance. I am assuming this is an armband, even though it is not sewn together at the ends.

Its an armband for a person "in service of the German military" basically these were worn by civilians, foreign workers and such that were doing work for the military. It afforded them to be in areas off limits to civilians, and other military privileges. (less hassle by the police) And at least some level of protection (theoretically POW status)if they were captured. There were some documented cases where these armbands helped some German women escape the Russians.

from the pics I can't say 100% that its good, but its a more common one so your chances are good. It also same in yellow and in an embroidred version
