A friend gave me these to investigate for him, I'm not a cloth man at all, perhaps you guys would know who these were for, whether they are genuine or not and an approximate value in todays market if they are indeed real.

Thanks

Gary

In the Fall 1990 issue of the Military Advisor (Volume 1, Nr.4), on page 12, Jack Angolia pictured these exact tabs in his "What is it?" section, asking the same question you are asking. I never did follow-up to find out what they were, & still would like to know. In his article, Jack also pictured the same style of tabs, but in grey-blue embroidery & piping on a dark blue base; & other like tabs but in grey embroidery & grey piping on a dark green base. Somebody out there should know.

Nice tabs!

German Federal Customs service 1955-1970 or there about.

The higher ranks had silver embroidery & piping and the highest ranks had gold embroidery & piping.

The Sea Cusoms branch used the same tabs but in dark blue with grey / silver / gold embroidery & piping depending on the rank of the official.
