There was a superb weather today and after the sunday christmas mess I wanted to show you pictures of this festung "Nordheim" 35 km from our home. First time I visited the batterie I was 8 yrs on a schooltrip. The place has alway fasinated me because the enourmes amount of bunkers, trenches, barrack`s, cannons destroyed in it`s gunpoints (4 of them) etc. The batterie was not used after the war. UK troops and norwegian armed forces shipped out guns and ammo using a ferry and dumping it in the fjord outside the fort. Since there is almost nobody living there and few people are going there it is in a very good condition. I could not go on every position in under 5-6 houers. There are bunkers with painting on the wall, soldatart etc.
A tellermine was found a few yers ago. I did not have too much time but I think you have an idea what the fort is like. It saw some live combat firing on boats during ww2...
Enjoy the kriegs weinarcht zeit Wink

This house is an old german barrack used as a cabine/hut after the war. It is deserted and 5 years ago we where on the attic and found 29 totally fine crates for 88flak and the french big guns. I kept one and the rest is at our museum. Amazing! The tags with adler and WaA where dry and nice...

During the first time of ocupation this little island looking like a sub was attacked by a uk airplane. A few years ago me and a pal was out there with a boat and you can still see lots of bullet craters on the smooth stone wall... Cool
