Canada replaced the VC with their own version, not impressed with that either.

I thought there was a 1958 version of the iron cross ? Regardless this new award is lackluster also giving up a 130 yr. old traditional award for PC is foolish and dangerous as would wearing a 1939 version at a JADL meeting.

I can't say the basic design looks all that bad, it does look pretty bland though.
Black enamel with silver/gold highlights would have looked nice, of course that too probably would have been unacceptable to the PC crowd.
