I am not sure if this is the right forum, but it seems closely related to history...

I am interested in researching a family member who served in the German army in WWI and would like to check him out in the Imperial rank lists. However, these books are rare and expensive and a big undertaking considering the person may not even be in there. Does any forum member know if these lists are offered online or if there is a person/service that has access to the rank lists?

I could even offer to compensate for that person's time since this would still be cheaper than having to buy my own book(s).

Any ideas? Thanks, Max

Max, I own three of these rank lists.

Inside, you can find the officers in active duty of every prussian and württembergian regiment.

Bavaria, saxonia and the Navy had there own rank lists.

If your family member was a prussian officer and if you know the regiment and the year, he served, I will try to help you.

Regards

Kolibri
