Craig , something that always puzzled me on the goblets marked like the left one,,are they really finesilver [which is 999 content silver] OR Alpaka [which has no silver in it what so ever]

Yes, you are correct. The "Alpaka" version is in fact silver-plate over a base metal (not sure what the base metal is). What is amazing to me is that for all of the goblets produced in silver-plate, just a few pilot-observer badges in diamonds could have paid for ALL of them to remain silver!
