RCAF trained alot of pilots post war.I would like to show you guy,s what I think was the norm at the time. Air force pilots translating into the civil airline ****pits.I know all nations did this, but here is a small example of my dad's.

Hi Bill,

Yes, the RCAF trained a lot of Air Canada's (and other airline's) future pilots. Of course they did it to themselves when in the mid-1960s the RCAF let go of the "famous 500". At the time they figured they were overborne with pilots and gave them their pink slips. Many of these guys went on to long and successful careers with AC...and the RCAF, well they had to go hire and train more pilots later on when they discovered they were now short.
