I have a portepee that resembles the Army portepee in all aspects except the dot on the end of the ball is red. I cannot find anything in my references telling me the ID of this. anyone out there have any ideas?

Welcome to the forum kegan. Without a photo the best that can be given is a guess, but it sounds like it may be a Red Cross officer's portepee. If you can, post a couple of photos. ~ Ian
