Guys:
I just received the following in the mail today. It is an honorary badge that had to be earned by the youngest girls in the Norwegian equivalent of the BDM. There were three levels, the Smahird, for the youngest girls, the Jentehird, for older girls and the Kvinnehird, for women. This is the Smahird badge: |

I also received a few weeks ago the Den Norske Legion medal, which was given out to members of the Norwegian Legion and front serving Norwegian nurses.

Thanks, guys.
I am very pleased with both. And, both were acquired via the help of some very good people. Up to this point, I didn't even know that there were pins for the female party organizations, but should not be surprised. I understand that the Kvinnehird are the hardest medals to find, along with the Politiets Hederstegn, the pin for Police members of the 1st and 2nd Police Companies, who fought in Finland against the Russians. If I ever get these, you will see them here. I love this hobby and how people help each other out. John |

Hallo John Realy nice stuff you are showing us here. But this is not a medal. But a badge sold to suport Den norske Legion. And was made after the"oblat" or "stamp" whit the same motif. It was made in 42 I think and the price was 2 or 2.50 norwegian kroner. The today's price wil most likely be 200- 250 us dollars. And its a quiet comon badge. But very nice Best regards Gulli |

Gulli:
Thank you for your comments and correction. I guess that I translated 'merke' as 'medal', when it should have been 'badge'. You may very well be right about it being common, but I have seen very few of them. Then again I am not usually on very many Norwegian auction sites. And, once these make their way over seas, the price does tend to be a little higher. John |

This is about what I paid for it. This actually may be the one that I bought. A friend of mine in Norway bid for me on this. I am not looking for a Frontkjemper, only a miniature. I already have 4. John |
