I recently acquired a very nice early Luftwaffe 1st dagger. Unfortunately it was missing the leather of both the scabbard and grip. Even though a grip wire was present.
The nice thing about this dagger was that it was unit stamped. I sent it off to a nice gentleman in the states called Don Swanson, who did a great job of re-covering it. It looks superb, and theres no seams! Thanks Don, great job. Hope you all like it. Before: After: Grip: Grip Close: Scabbard: Stampings: Here are some photos of both my 1st Lufts. The other is a late aluminium, in near mint condition by Tiger: Lewis |

Very nice job done there Lewis. I think it is always worth getting the leather restored on these if it is required,

Nice piece!
Don's 1st rate with restoration work. He's painted a couple of scabbards for me in the past and I've always been very satisfied. GDC # 0191 |
