When I look at Pat's photo's of his wonderful daggers I'm reminded very much of the pics that Manfred Vogel used to post of his stuff, anyone else remember them, they were truly spectacular pieces. If ever the old adage 'quality not quantity' deserved a mention?? Eek

Manfred has quite the collection but you never knew what was original and what had been tuned up. Wink

Whatever it was it sure looked a lot better than a lot of what's shown on some "Dealers" sites today. Wink

Completely agree with that and the beauty of them always convinced me that there is absolutely nothing wrong in degree of restoration. Top art dealers and even museums will restore works of art, why not bring some beauty back to a crappy old german dagger (if you can)

Thank you Nolan for the compliment and your appreciation. Cool
Manfred had ( and still has ) a wonderful collection and his photographic skills were just "out of this world".
What I miss most about Manfred, aside from his wealth of knowledge on daggers, is his great sense of humor. Wink
