Hi George:
Rune disk and eagle have prongs that go through the wood handle and are bent over inside . With the handle off and a flash light the bent over ends of the prongs can be seen on the inside .
If you do look at them , on reassembling do not teighten pommel nut with wrench!! ...Only by hand ! Wood exepands at times and the pressure could chip or crack the wood on the handle .

George,

The eagle has 2 flat metal prongs on the back one above the other. These go through the grip and are bent over. You can often see them if you look down the hole while using a torch at the other end. Sometimes they are covered in debris or pressed into the wood.

The rune, on the other hand, has a hollow pin on the back about 1mm in diameter. After the rune was pressed in under pressure, the bit protruding inside was cut off somehow as you do not see them bent. It would have been hard to as the pin is sustantial. It is usually easy to see the end.

Regards,
Dave

Paul,

I try to reply in the correct language. Yes, a flashlight is a torch. You keep the torch in the boot of car next to the spare tyre and to the right of the petrol tank.

Americans and the English: Two people separated by a common language. (Churchill, I think)
