Hi,
In my opinion these should be with !-after motto, and a slightly different style motto-etch as well..

I think this blade is bad. Maker-etching on blade even has a typo "GRAERATH"
Should read GRAFRATH.

Cheers,

Tor-Helge

Thanks, Guys -

Not Militaria 3-2-1-, Serge. This dagger is on German EBAY advertising just the scabbard but reading between the lines you know he's selling the complete dagger.

The Czech fakers are selling these through many channels. We all need to be on guard. They have not got them down yet but they are good enough to fool many. It never ceases to amaze me how so often times these guys have obviously spent hours working on these thing but miss such major features this the exclaimation mark!

It is getting plenty scary, alright. In addition to the weird appearance of the eagle's head, the shape of the blade doesn't seem quite right and the motto etching is somewhat sketchy. If you look at the high ridge on the grip, it appears it may have been painted black, with the brown peeking through where the surface has chipped off.

Hello All, I agree with Serge, the shape of the grip seems too "pot-bellied" Regards, Leipzig

That's right Paul.
They spend a lot of time on it. Missed the exclaimation mark, using the same Czech eagle ( a cross between the "high-neck" and the "upward-beak"). Also mispelled the logo.
BUT..it appears that they are now acid-etching the makers logos instead of Lazer. Eek
Oh! Something else I noticed...they are starting to "nick-up" the grips.

Scary.
The acid etching appears pretty damn good. Seems like they have ironed out many of the details only to be tripped up by more obvious mistakes.
Still, these fakes are definately getting better and in a few more years... Red Face

The etching seems good yes, but, it is completely wrong style for a fully maker marked JCO.

Best regards,
