Yes, a true original and a nice one. As I alreay own one I can tell you that originals are nearly impossible to find. Mine is marked on the inside cover to the American Government (S2) and has the original SS Standart stamp. It appears almost unused. Jack Angolia also has a 37, which I consider one of the best to own as if the SS member was going to be anything of rank or importance he would have probably been an officer by 1937. Also, it has a good number of SS officers when compared to the 1934 list.

Theres nothing in it that a reprint won't tell you for $50.00.

When I bought my original, there were no reprints, no KEY, no services and no information on SS officers.
The 1937 Dienstaltersliste I bought was the basis for my SS Officer Research Service. The first one available anywhere. I have helped hundreds of collectors with numbers and names.

EINHESSE,

I feel that the current auction price for the 1936 example is over priced especially considering as pointed out, today copies can be obtained which will completely suffice. Also, although this is an original piece however there were many additional entries included in the subsequent years of 1937 & 1938.

In regards to the 1937 edition in discussion and although it is a fine edition, it is my opinion that the 1938 edition is by far the most complete and extensive of them all thru the years and until the end. Not overlooking the final years when they only included only the upper echelon of officers
