I picked this one up last week.
Is this one of the famous Atwood piece's
The scabbard looks good inside and out even the paint is crazed.
The blade looks like the B+A type with heavy grain.
The handle is black wood not dyed, the eagle and button do not look good
We all know the etch and makers do match.
What I would to know is, Is this a early Atwood piece or a newer piece like Reddick's?
Any idea of value? Opinions are welcome.

Hi Randal,
I don't think it's a Reddick blade. The ones I have seen had the correct maker mark and the "i" in Himmler was dotted. IMO it's a Spanish reproduction from the sixties. Is the scabbard ring soldered closed?

I have a "Reddick" Himmler from the eighties.
Looks like the real deal except for one trifling
detail.This is NOT one.
PS sorry for the original answer to your question, didn,t read it correctly.

Hi Jim, Yes the ring is soldered closed.
I should have typed that the Himmler etch and E. Pack do not match.
I guess I'm still learning to type.
The reason for the original question is, that I'm looking for one
of Mr Atwwod's daggers and I had hoped I had found it.
Thanks for all the help.

Thanks Terry,
Give me few days and I'll let you know.
Most of my piece's are original, but I have the B+A models
just to represent what the makers did after the war.
Terry if I forget, email me.
