Hi,
This dagger looks OK for me but, it's always better to have more opinions,

Scabbard perhaps restored...

Thanks

The handle looks like it may be restored also.

I am not going to explain my opinions because I do not want to help the fockers,I mean the fakers .But what is the point of the forum if we do not help others. The reason is the handle does not have any dents or chips and the dye or paint looks perfect. The reverse center line is not centered. Deiter 777, are you the Dr Z, in the Daimler-Chrysler TV commercials.? Wink IMO

I agree with zorro on the center line on the reverse handle - but the blade markings (RZM) etc. are consistent with this unknown maker. Maybe a parts dagger, but again the blade certainly looks like the real deal.

I agree with Stan. These usually have solid nickel fittings. There is another one on Ebay at the moment. It also has plated fittings, but it doesn't look right to me.

In checking Johnson Reference Books (JRB) "for sale catalog" I see some 36 SS daggers; 36 NSKK daggers and one unissued 33 EM dagger that have plated fittings. One even describes an RZM M7/13 with Aluminum plated fittings. I am sure Johnson knows his business. But as you carefully stated "usually" - indicating not all are solid nickle. I have seen additional pictures of the 807 on ebay and sense it is original.

The individual parts look okay and the grip appears to fit the guards well. I don't think it would be much of a stretch for plated guards to have been placed on these, since they apparently first appeared in 1936, sort of the beginning of the "transitional" point from nickel-silver to plated fittings. I would prefer the nickel-silver fittings on this dagger, but, if the price is right, it could be a decent buy.
