Looks dodgy to me, the motto has poor definition and errors to the characters, not what you'd expect on an Eickhorn. The maker mark appears too crisp, perhaps a laser-etch, also the font appears to be typeset rather than hand drawn. blade looks like a Copy to me... very much like the CZ repros.

I agree probably a Czech lazer etch. Details are still wrong and improper positioning on the blade. Note also the 7 in "37". Here is an authentic example of the scarce 1937 Eickhorn transitional.
Can't you return this dagger seeing it came from a dealer? If he won't take it back, you may do better to try an exchange on a good piece? I hope you can get your money back, good luck

Rieny, i feel real sorry for you, since i almust make the same mistake but the problems is that we all looking for nice, so colled mint blades and to be onest there is only a few original mint examples out there and fakers now how to full ass, specialy in chech republic, they must have a large biznis going on, since they produce fake daggers ( some even with original parts ), fake SS buckles, fake caps, Uniforms, helmets, everything that we collectors wish so much!!!
So what can we do, when we pay lets say 2000 euro for original ( fake ) SS dagger and dealer claims that he was only saling it for another guy, there is not much to do, exept to get on a plaine and burn down their ripp off biznis!!!
There are a few so colled respectable dealers from Chech republic and when ever you open their sites they will have a few beoutifull "original" SS daggers for 1600 euro, one of them even have "original" SS sword ( in my opinion its original Police sword with exchanged insignia ) listed for sale and the price is so atemting that one of as will get burned very soon!!!
